My Saskatchewan Treasures Contest Rules - with Parks Canada in Saskatchewan 2011EligibilityThe contest is open to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada who are over the age of majority in their province of residence, except employees, representatives and agents of the Parks Canada Agency, Tourism Saskatchewan or members of the selection committee. This includes immediate family members, co-tenants, and agents. Photos entered in the contest must not have been published previously. A same photo cannot be entered more than once. Photos entered in the contest must be taken at a National Park or National Historic Site of Canada in Saskatchewan. National Parks in Saskatchewan include: Grasslands National Park & Prince Albert National Park. National Historic Sites in Saskatchewan include: Batoche, Fort Battleford, Fort Walsh, Motherwell Homestead. (These are the only 6 participating locations). Every photo entered in the contest must include a short description of 200 words or less. Submissions must include the date on which the photo was taken and the National Park or National Historic Site of Canada in Saskatchewan where it was taken. A participant cannot receive more than one prize per category, but may win in more than one category. Applicable lawsLegal considerations limit contest participation to Canadian residents. We apologize to Parks Canada visitors who live outside Canada. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, territorial and municipal law. By entering this contest, participants agree to be bound by these official rules and by the decisions of the selection committee, which shall be final on all matters relating to this contest. For Quebec residents only, any litigation concerning the conduct or administration of this contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation concerning the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for purpose of helping the parties to reach a settlement. SizeAll photos entered must be submitted electronically in JPEG format through the My Saskatchewan Treasures Contest website (www.SaskatchewanTreasuresContest.com). Digital files should be at least 1,000 pixels wide for a horizontal image or 1,000 pixels tall for a vertical image with a resolution of 72 dots per inch (dpi). Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable. Cropping is permitted. Tonal or colour correction, including conversion to black and white, is acceptable. If one of your images is selected for future promotional purposes, a high-resolution version may be required for publication. In such case, participants may be asked to provide a high-resolution version of each image submitted (a maximum-quality, uncompressed TIFF or JPEG file, in grey tones or colour (RGB), of 300 dots per inch or dpi, with a minimum of 1,600 pixels on the longer side, and a minimum final print size of 8 inches x 10 inches or 20 cm x 25 cm. Entries and IdentificationParticipants may upload a total of up to 3 photos per National Park or National Historic Site in Saskatchewan to the contest. Upon registration and entry, participants will have the option of forwarding the contest details to their friends/family in order to receive up to 10 bonus contest entries. In other words, 3 entries per site and 10 forwards equals a maximum 28 entries per participant (should you max out entries on all 6 sites and all possible forwards). Photos must be taken at one of the National Parks or National Historic Sites in Saskatchewan. The selection committee reserves the right to withdraw a photo / photos entirely from the contest if it is deemed generally inappropriate or is not obviously taken in one of the National Parks or National Historic Sites in Saskatchewan. PublicationTourism Saskatchewan and the Parks Canada Agency reserve the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional material. The participant is responsible for releasing copyright licence for each photo he/she submits and this copyright licence release applies to all photos submitted in the contest. All photos will be credited to the author's name. Copyright NoticeWith respect to any photo entered in this contest, you, or the copyright holder for these photos, retain the copyright. By uploading or entering a photo in the contest, you grant (or certify that the photo‟s copyright holder expressly grants) Tourism Saskatchewan and the Parks Canada Agency a world-wide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, adapt, transmit, communicate, publish, publicly display and distribute, as well as create and distribute compilations and derivative works or merchandise from any such submitted photos to promote the contest or any resulting public display. You further grant the Parks Canada Agency and Tourism Saskatchewan the right to use your name and archive the submitted photos and to use/publish them as part of educational or business activities. You represent and warrant that you have the right to grant the license set out above. Where individuals appear in the photos, permission to reprint, publish or reproduce the images, as described above, shall be requested before these photos are used for promotional purposes. Privacy ActThe participants' personal information is protected by the Canada Privacy Act as well as by the Parks Canada Privacy Policy which can be found at the following e-address: www.pc.gc.ca/avis-notice_e.asp. Deadline for EntryThe contest opens May, 19, 2011. All entries must be uploaded to the contest Web site at www.SaskatchewanTreasuresContest.com by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Friday, September 30, 2011. If for any reason this contest is not capable of being completed as planned, including but not limited to computer virus, bugs, tampering, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of the Parks Canada Agency or Tourism Saskatchewan, Parks Canada (and/or the Tourism Saskatchewan) reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie in Québec, to cancel, suspend or modify the contest. Selection of Winning PhotosThe decision of the selection committee is final and cannot be appealed. Winners from each category will be randomly drawn from the pool of entries in each category. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible participations. Compliance with the category regulations is mandatory and will be verified by the selection committee prior to awarding prizes. In order to win, selected participants must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by mail or telephone. The selection committee will include one representative from Tourism Saskatchewan, one representative from the Parks Canada Agency, and one external member to be chosen by Tourism Saskatchewan. The selection committee will draw for the random winners in each of the categories and will identify the winners in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on or before Friday, November 18, 2011. Winners will be notified no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 Winners will be notified by mail or telephone and will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release form within 15 business days of notifications. If a selected participant cannot be contacted by mail or telephone or fails to return the contest documents within the specified time, he/she will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected. All prizes will be delivered to confirmed winners. LiabilityTourism Saskatchewan, as well as Parks Canada, shall not be held liable for any malfunctions of the Web site during this contest, nor is it responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of online computer systems, access providers, computer equipment, software or loss of an e-mail, online or Internet entry due to technical problems or congested bandwidth or Internet site or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to a participant‟s or any other person‟s computer or related property resulting from the use or the downloading/uploading of any material related to the promotion. Tourism Saskatchewan as well as Parks Canada shall not be responsible for any injury, accident or any other loss, damage or expenses in connection with acceptance of a prize. In addition, participants discharges and forever release Tourism Saskatchewan and Parks Canada of and from any and all claims, detriments, losses, damages, accident, injury, actions or causes of action whatsoever, whether known or unknown, whether at law or in equity in connection with the contest or the prize. Acceptance of RegulationsAll contest participants warrant that they have read and understood the above regulations and accept them as described. |
